How to Install FASTPANEL on Vultr (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS) 2022 – Free cPanel Alternative

How to Install FASTPANEL on Vultr (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS)

In this tutorial, we will provide detailed instructions for installing FASTPANEL on Vultr (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS). FASTPANEL is a simple and powerful server management panel that provides intuitive, point-and-click web-based interfaces for tasks such as file transfer, application installation, PHP version updating, and email account creation.

And I will help you to install FASTPANEL on Vultr (Linux Server – Ubuntu 20.04 LTS), here I will install it on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

The installation is quite simple, provided you are logged in as the root user. If you are not logged in as root, you may need to precede each command with ‘sudo’ in order to obtain the necessary privileges. I will now walk you through the installation of FastPanel, an alternative to cPanel, on Ubuntu 20.04 (Focal Fossa).

  • The same instructions can be followed for Ubuntu 18.04, 16.04, and any other Debian-based distribution.
  • It is recommended that you use a fresh operating system installation to prevent any potential issues.
  • SSH access to the server (or just open Terminal if you’re on a desktop) is required.
  • A non-root sudo user or access to the root user is recommended. Acting as a non-root sudo user is preferred, as you can harm your system if you’re not careful when acting as the root.

Install FASTPANEL on Vultr (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS)

Step 1. To ensure that your system packages are up-to-date, run the following apt commands in the terminal:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
					sudo apt install apt-transport-https dirmngr

Step 2. Installing FASTPANEL on Ubuntu 20.04

FASTPANEL is not available on Ubuntu 20.04 base repository by default. To download the FastPanel script installer from the official page, run the following command:

					wget http://repo.fastpanel.direct/install_fastpanel.sh

Then, run the installation script:

					sudo bash install_fastpanel.sh

Step 3. Configure Firewall

Ubuntu Linux comes with UFW enabled by default, which will block connections from other computers trying to access our FASTPANEL service. The appropriate ports must be opened so that FASTPANEL resources can be accessed from other machines.

Step 4. Accessing FASTPANEL Web Interface

After completing the installation process, you can access the FASTPANEL by opening your web browser and navigating to https://your-IP-address:8888. Doing so will redirect you to the FASTPANEL interface page.

Congratulations on successfully installing FASTPANEL. We’re grateful you used this tutorial to install the web-hosting control panel on your Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Focal Fossa system. For additional help or useful information, we recommend you consult the official FASTPANEL website.
