Major reasons why you should Start a Fresh Website! (Not an Expired One)

No matter how old your site is, it doesn’t have to stop working. Many people don’t know that domain names can be renewed for a low cost and are more than happy to help you get back on track with a fresh website or an expired domain.

What is the best way to start a fresh website or pick up an expired domain?

The best way to find a new website or expired domain is to use the services of someone who specializes in that niche. Of course, this can be expensive if you’re not aware of their rates beforehand and you don’t know what companies are trustworthy, because if you don’t know the company well, you may not be able to trust them. They may try to scam you and charge extra fees for services they didn’t promise.

There are many companies who offer this type of service, and the best way for you to find one is by searching online for companies that specialize in migrating websites from one host or hosting service provider (host) to another. Here’s a list might be you interested:

The following are a few questions you might want to ask about your prospective company before signing up for their services:

  1. How long does it typically take? This is important because you want to make sure that the company you choose is capable of doing what they say they are going to do and can move sites within a reasonable timeframe. You don’t want them taking weeks or months just because it takes that long for someone else in their office (or wherever) to figure out how to do it.
  2. What happens if their services don’t work? Of course, this is a question that you will want to ask them (and find out how they respond), but basically what you are looking for in this type of situation is whether or not the company will be willing to refund your money in full if their services don’t work. Otherwise, why would you want them moving your site?
  3. How long does it typically take for a new website to go live once the migration process is complete? This is also important because you don ’t want your website to go live right away. You should give yourself some time to test the new site and make sure it is what you really want before making any major decisions with regards to moving it over or not.
  4. How long do they keep my old domain name? This is something that you will want to ask them but again, this question should be asked before signing up for their services. You don’t want your old domain name stolen or sold by the company and end up in someone else ’s hands who doesn’t host websites.
  5. Do they have a good  return policy? This is important because the minute you sign up with them, you want to be able to cancel and get your money back if their services don’t work out. Furthermore, you will also likely need some kind of refund in order to pay a new web designer.

So, as you can see there are quite a few things that you need to think about when trying to figure out who is the best company for your website migration needs. Hopefully this will help you find the right fit!

Everything you need to know about expired domain names

Domain names are one of the most important assets that a business owns. If they have an expired domain name, it will impact their ability to do any amount of business with customers and potential clients as well; therefore, you must take care in maintaining your DNS records! In this post I’m going to provide you with everything you need to know about expired domain names.

What are domain names?

DNS is the Internet’s directory service, which lets us look up information for websites in a very simple way: by entering their domain name into our computers and seeing what comes back.

How do domain names expire?

Domain names do not expire, they simply become inactive after a specific amount of time has passed since the domain name was registered. The registration period is set by many different factors: some are private to the registrant and others are public information (e.g., the length of time that a registration is valid).

I discovered there are 2 types of expired domain names:

  1. The first type is the one that was registered at a different registrar (in this case, GoDaddy). This type of expired domain name can be renewed. You just need to contact your old registrar and renew it before it expires.
  2. The second type is the one that was registered at GoDaddy. This type of expired domain name cannot be renewed because it can no longer have a period attached to its registration date, which means it has already expired.

There are a lot of reasons why you might want to sell your expired domain name:

  1. If you don’t need this business or website anymore, then it doesn’t make sense for the company hosting it any longer and they will need to discontinue it.
  2. If you are selling the site for profit, then there is still a lot of time and expense that goes into setting up something new on your own.

Consider all of this before deciding to sell an expired domain name.

How do I find the current market value of expired domains?

If you’re not familiar with the concept of shell companies, I’m just going to assume that you are and send you over to this blog post where I explain it in detail. If you care to read more about how they work , here’s a link .

So basically, there are two ways that you can connect the dots and figure out how much your expired domain should be worth.

  1. The first way is to go through every .com auction that you find results for, run some quick calculations based on which companies have their auctions set up in a particular way (like Invitium or Sedo ), and work backwards to determine the value of your expired domain. This is described in this article .
  2. The second way, which I found out about recently and have since started using myself , is by going directly to a shell company’s website (like Sedo or Invitium ) and searching for expired domains that they own. This is an easy way to find out the value of a domain name because you’re not spending any time going through auction results or trying to figure out how other companies do their searches.

For this example, I found the following expired domains on Sedo: Ok, so now I’m going to go through each of these domains and figure out a value for them.

If you look closely at the first one (Stocks-ExpiredDomains .com), there are actually two ways that this domain might be worth something.

  1. The first way is if someone else bought it but forgot to transfer the domain name over to them. So if they have a website or blog with this domain name on, you might be able to find out who is responsible for that site and try and work something out with them (if not an easy way of getting around the fee if nothing can be done).
  2. The second way is that the domain name has value to someone. But since no one bought it, there will probably only be a small number of people trying to buy this expired .com and thus not many bids involved when you enter your own offer. So the value here is pretty small.

The next one (ExpiredDomains .com) actually has two possible values:

  1. If someone else bought it and forgot to transfer the domain name over, then there’s probably no value at all for that site because you’d have little idea who owns it or what they do.
  2. But if this was a repurposed site that didn’t get transferred over to someone, it could be worth looking into because you might find out who owns the domain name and what they’re doing with it.

Lastly (ExpiredDomains .net), there’s actually two ways of looking at this domain:

  1. Someone bought it and didn’t transfer it over to them, so the value is pretty low
  2. If somebody owns that site then they probably have a good idea of who they are and what they’re doing with their website
  3. Maybe there’s another site using this domain name and they’re trying to get it back. For the first one, it’s a pretty useless domain right now because you don’t know who owns this site or what their plans are for the future.

For example, if someone bought up all these domains that expire in 5 days and then didn’t transfer them over to themselves (or maybe they transferred them to some other third party), then that person might still be running a business out of one of these domains. This is obviously the most likely scenario, but you’d have to dig for more information about this domain before making any assumptions!

A final thought on expired domain names: there’s no doubt that those are not worth much at all right now, but you should always keep in mind that a domain name is just one piece of the puzzle.

So if you use any of these expired domain names (or even buy them up and leave them abandoned), then it’s important to consider all options before using your new .com!

How do I get traffic from an expired domain?

I’m going to assume that you already have a blog and are in need of more traffic. The first thing you can do is advertise your site on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter or Google Plus because people frequently share their favorite blogs with other users which will increase the visibility of your blog.

You can also write a guest post on another blog and ask them if they would be interested in publishing it or do an article exchange with other blogs that you want to promote. The last, but not least is using the old expired domain as part of your URL which will get more exposure since you are still promoting the site.

How can one pick expired domains which are still ranking to buy?

It is possible that your expired domain might still be ranking and you can use the Hreflang tag if it’s available in order to keep the page rank. Normally when a website changes ownership, they often take out this feature so make sure that your site has it enabled.

The next option would be to restart your blog and link it with the domain you’re trying to rank for so that both pages will show up in search results. I’m not sure if anyone has tested this but when linking a blog without Hreflang, Google’s algorithm might still identify that the page has been moved to a new domain and it will still rank.

The third way is by changing your blog’s content so you can rank for keywords in which your site ranks well. This won’t work forever but it might help with some of those old expired domains. One last thing to consider if you’re looking for expired domains is the domain age. You could purchase a .com which is at least ten years old or more and it will still be ranking because of its authority level.

How I made $600-820 per month, from an expired domain?

I’ve been researching domain expired domains from August 2017 to December 2018. The first one I purchased was a which was in the top 10,000 for about 5 months and then it dropped out of the search results but Google gave me an error message saying that my site is no longer live. I decided to purchase a .com domain and see if it would rank for the same keyword again or not.

It took me about five months but my new site is now ranked in the top 10,000 for “laptop repair” which is worth $600-$800 per month. If you’re wondering how I did it, let me tell you the process which is as follows:

  • Step 1 – Purchase a .com domain for $90 from Namecheap
  • Step 2 – Buy your expired domain using my affiliate link and pay via PayPal (I recommend using Payoneer for payments because it’s a major credit card company like Visa or MasterCard).
  • Step 3 – Go to your new domain and set up the MX records. I suggest you register two different email addresses so that will work in case one of them is shut down by Gmail, Yahoo, or whatever service provider you’re using. I use Gmail and the domain is,, or whatever email address you want to register for your blog’s (this is optional).
  • Step 4 – Buy a hosting account from Bluehost
  • Step 5 – Install WordPress with Jetpack plugin on my new domain.

Here is the progress of my old domain ( ) after some time and a few keywords I’ve bought from expired domains: You can see the progress of my domain from August 2017 to December 2018. After publishing my first post on January 1, 2019, I rank #1 for laptop repair and it’s earning me $600-$800 per month.

You can earn money by buying expired domains with your affiliate link and selling them on your new domain to earn more money with each purchase. This kind of work is highly recommended if you want a passive income stream for the long term, which means that you can spend time on other activities like blogging.
